Returns & Exchanges
1. Overview
At Hair by Tuni, we are committed to providing high-quality hair products and services to our customers across Canada. This Refund, Return & Exchange Policy is designed in accordance with the applicable provisions of Canadian consumer protection laws, including but not limited to:
- The Consumer Protection Act (Ontario and applicable provincial equivalents)
- The Competition Act (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-34)
- The Electronic Commerce Protection Regulations under CASL
- Applicable provincial Sale of Goods Acts
By making a purchase through www.hairbytuni.com, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out in this policy.
2. Return Eligibility
2.1 Eligible Items
We accept returns on the following conditions:
- Items must be returned within 30 days of the delivery date.
- Items must be unused, unworn, and in their original condition with all original packaging, tags, and seals intact.
- Proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt) must be provided.
2.2 Non-Eligible Items
Due to health, hygiene, and safety regulations, the following items are non-returnable and non-refundable:
- Hair extensions, wigs, or any hair products that have been opened, worn, or used.
- Items marked as “Final Sale” or “Non-Returnable” at the time of purchase.
- Gift cards or store credits.
- Items that have been altered, customized, or damaged after delivery.
- Downloadable or digital products.
Please Note: Under the Consumer Protection Act, items purchased as part of a distance sale (online) may be subject to a right of cancellation within a specified period. Please contact us promptly if you wish to exercise this right.
3. Refunds
3.1 Approved Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you via email whether your refund has been approved or rejected. If approved, your refund will be processed to your original method of payment within 7–10 business days. Please allow additional time for your financial institution to process the credit.
3.2 Partial Refunds
Partial refunds may be granted in the following situations:
- Items that are returned in a condition other than original (e.g., minor damage not caused by the customer).
- Items returned after the 30-day return window but within 45 days, at our sole discretion.
3.3 Late or Missing Refunds
If you have not received your refund within 10 business days of approval, please:
- Check your bank account or credit card statement again.
- Contact your financial institution, as processing times vary.
- If you still have not received your refund, contact us at hello@hairbytuni.com.
4. Exchanges
We offer exchanges for items that arrive defective, damaged in transit, or if you received the wrong item. If you need an exchange, please contact us at hello@hairbytuni.com within 7 days of receiving your order with:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photographs of the defect or damage
We will review your request and, if approved, arrange for a replacement to be shipped at no additional cost to you. In cases where the original item is no longer available, we will issue a full refund or store credit as agreed upon.
5. Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Items
If you receive an item that is defective, damaged, or not what you ordered, you have the right to a remedy under Canadian consumer protection legislation. Please contact us at hello@hairbytuni.com within 7 days of delivery. We will offer one of the following remedies at your choice:
- A full replacement of the item
- A full refund to your original payment method
- A store credit for the value of the item
Hair by Tuni reserves the right to request supporting documentation (such as photographs) to assess damage or defects before processing a remedy.
6. How to Initiate a Return or Exchange
To initiate a return or exchange, please follow these steps:
- Contact Us: Email hello@hairbytuni.com with your order number, the item(s) you wish to return or exchange, and the reason for the return.
- Wait for Approval: Our team will review your request and respond within 2–3 business days with instructions and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number if applicable.
- Ship the Item: Package the item securely and ship it to the address provided in our email response. Items must be postmarked within 7 days of receiving your RMA approval.
- Confirmation: Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the refund, exchange, or credit within 5 business days.
7. Return Shipping Costs
Defective, damaged, or incorrect items: Hair by Tuni will cover the cost of return shipping by providing a prepaid shipping label.
Change of mind returns: The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. We recommend using a trackable shipping method, as Hair by Tuni is not responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
8. Order Cancellations
You may cancel an order before it has been shipped by contacting us at hello@hairbytuni.com as soon as possible. If your order has already been dispatched, you will need to follow the return process outlined in this policy.
For orders placed via pre-order or special order, cancellations may not be accepted once production or sourcing has commenced. We will notify you of these restrictions at the time of purchase.
9. Your Rights Under Canadian Law
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your rights under applicable Canadian federal or provincial consumer protection laws. Specifically:
- You retain all rights granted under the applicable provincial Consumer Protection Acts, including the right to a remedy for goods that are not of acceptable quality.
- In provinces that provide a cooling-off period for distance contracts (online purchases), you may cancel your order within the legislated timeframe without penalty.
- Representations made on our website regarding product quality and fitness for purpose are binding.
If there is any conflict between this policy and your statutory rights under Canadian law, your statutory rights will prevail.

Any personal information collected during the returns process will be handled in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and our Privacy Policy available at www.hairbytuni.com. We will use your information solely for the purpose of processing your return, refund, or exchange.
